CASHLESS TRENDS
Digital payment methods are more popular than ever. Retailers, restaurants, online stores and even utility companies are switching (or more than likely have switched) to some form of digital payment. For retailers, the use of NFC technology has become increasingly popular. This technology allows customers to use credit and debit cards with small chips or cell phones with NFC technology to interact with NFC readers and make cashless payments without having to swipe a card or scan anything.
For credit and debit card users, payment options are becoming even easier as well. Especially for small businesses or vending machine operators, there are more and more options available that are easy to use. For retailers, products such as Apple’s Square card reader give small businesses the ability to process credit and debit card transactions with only a Square device and their Apple iPad or iPhone. New vending machines for sale like the Futura models from eVending have card readers that give patrons the option to pay for snacks and drinks with credit and debit cards. For vending operators, digital payment methods also create opportunities to track transactions and monitor machine performance.
